Petrol and Diesel Fuel Continue to Climb

High-octane petrol and diesel fuels continued climbing at the Russian wholesale market, according to the data of the information and analysis center “Kortes”. The price for Regular-92 on average in Russia has risen by 355 rubles and is now 29422 rub./t, Premium-95 has risen by 267 a ton and now costs 30189 rub. a ton. The maximum rise of the Premium-95 price was recorded in the Central and Northwestern federal districts – by 733 and 700 rubles a ton respectively, and diesel fuel was the most expensive there too – 32683 rub. a ton and 31375 rub. a ton.

At the stock exchange this week Premium-95 has risen in price during this week by 1957 rubles a ton and reached the level of 34 405 rub. a ton.

In the retail trade the most considerable rise of Premium-95 was recorded in the Ural Federal district – by 0,13 rubles a liter to reach 26.85 rubles a liter and in the Volga federal district – by 0,12 rubles a liter and is now 27.06 rubles a liter.

The information and analysis center “Kortes” estimates the petrol deficit at the domestic market of the Russian Federation in July at minimum 8%. As the Development and Marketing Director of the center Pavel Strokov explained to the Petroleum Information Agency, the petroleum release to the domestic market in the first half of 2011 comprised 14.8 million tons compared to 15.3 million tons for the same period last year.

“Taking into consideration the demand rise which according to the experts’ estimation makes up 5% we end up in July with the deficit of at least 8% (approximately 1.2 million tons). And this deficit is putting a pressure now on the free market, on the independent fuel filling station owners, and the first indicator of this is a stock exchange trade,” – he pointed out.

The diesel fuel on average in Russia has risen by 274 rubles a ton and cost 22 740 rub./t. It has become the most expensive in the Central federal district – by 633 rubles a ton and reached 22 850 rubles a ton. At the stock exchange the price of the summer diesel fuel has risen by 455 rubles a ton and reached 22 505 rubles a ton.
