A final investment agreement is to be signed between Russian and Slovenia about the Slovenian part of the gas pipeline South Stream.
The document is to be signed in the course of the Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša’s visit to Moscow. On Tuesday, November 13 he intends to conduct negotiations with the head of the Russian government Dmitriy Medvedev.
Earlier, at the end of 2011 Russia obtained the permission to lay a gas pipeline in its waters from Turkey. There are also joint enterprises on the construction of South Stream with Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Slovenia. Creating a joint venture with Croatia is expected this year.
The construction of South Stream is to start in December 2012. The gas deliveries to Europe via this gas pipeline are to start in the first quarter of 2016.
