Activ Solar completed the construction of the first phase of a solar power plant in the village of Perovo (Simferopol district, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) with the capacity of 20 MWatt.
The first phase of the plant consists of more than 88 thousand mono- and multicrystal solar photovoltaic modules, installed at the area of 40 hectares. At present this is the largest single-train solar system in the region.
The expected annual output of electrical energy in the first phase of the power plant is 26.5 million kWh.
Activ Solar is an international group with the headquarters in Vienna. Activ Solar produces silicon products, also engages in planning, funding and executing large-scale projects in the field of solar energy.
Its subsidiary is CHAO Zavod poluprovodnikov (Zaporozhye).
In 2010 Activ Solar built a solar power plant with the peak capacity of 7.5 MWatt in the village of Rodnikovo (Simferopol district, the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea).
By the end of 2011 Activ Solar is planning to raise the capacity of the solar power plant in the village of Okhotnikovo (Saky district, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) to 80 Mwatt. So far the second phase of the power plant with the capacity of 20 Mwatt has been completed. The solar power plant in Okhotnikovo is going to become one of the largest ones in the world. The first phase of the plant has been registered as OOO Omao Solar, the power facility is equipped with 90 thousand crystallic modules and occupies the area of 40 ha.
Omao Solar is to produce 25 tohusand Mwatt/h electrical energy a year which is enough to provide for electricity needs of about 5 thousand households.
According to the energy-saving program of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea for 2010-2014 Activ Solar can raise the capacity of its power plants in the Crimea to 300 Mwatt. The planned activities for this period include raising the capacity of the solar plants in the village of Rodnikovo to 20 Mwatt, building power plants with the capacity of 100 Mwatt in the village of Trudovoe, with the capacity of 80 Mwatt – in the village of Perovo (both are situated in Simferopol district), with the capacity of 100 Mwatt – in the village of Okhotnikovo (Saky district).
