Experimental Solar Power Plant Assembled In High North

The experimental solar power plant with the capacity of 10 KW has been assembled in Yakutia in the conditions of High North at the executive directorate of SakhaEnergo JSC.

The solar power plant consists of 52 solar panels with the capacity of 195 WT each, a three phase DC to ac inverter (capacity – 10 KW, out voltage – 380 WT), as well as the balance of plant and materials. The photocells are installed on the roof of a one storey garage and are intended to provide part-time energy supply for the industrial facilities situated on the territory of SakhaEnergo executive directorate.

The experimental unit will enable research which will provide the base for acquiring practical skills of solar power plant equipment operation. The research includes testing different operating modes under different conditions as well as carrying out comparative analysis of theoretical figures with practically obtained data. In the process of solar panels operation it will be possible to identify their week points and work out new ideas and engineering solutions on solar power plants improvement in the conditions of High North.

In future solar units are to be sent to the village of Batambay in Kobyayskiy ulus to be used for energy generation in parallel operation with the diesel-run power plant.
