Moscow To Get Floating Offices and Hotels in Quays Heated by Fuel Pellets

This was announced by BioTerm Company which supplies the floating hotel on the Moskva River with heating systems working on biofuel.

At present the construction of a five-storey floating office based at the landing stage with the fully autonomous water supply and heating systems is being completed in Moscow. The landing stage uses pellet boilers with the total capacity of 400 KW which are to heat residential and office premises as well as to provide hot water. The landing stage-office (it used to be a floating studio) is to be located in the quay of the Moskva River and will be built in strict compliance with maritime and river register.

There is a plan to create hotels on landing stages on the base of old steamers and barges – these hotels will be situated along Moscow’s numerous esplanades which are at present vacant. Besides, they will cost the city relatively little, because it will be easy to connect them to the electrical grid and other utilities.

By the end of this year Moscow will have got about 50 hotels of this kind. In this connection the land in Moscow in close proximity to water will get more expensive.

The plans of Moscow government to establish 50 floating hotels in Moscow have been revealed by the head of Moscow Committee on Investment Projects Realization in Construction Sphere and on Control in the Sphere of Participatory Construction (Moskomstroyinvest) Konstantin Timofeev.
