Nizhnovenergo Spends 50 Million Rubles on Clearing Forest Corridors for Power Transmission Lines in 1st Half Year of 2012

Out of the 6.5 thousand kilometers of overhead power lines with the voltage of 35-110 kv, serviced by the branch of Nizhnovenergo, almost 4 thousand are going through the woodland.
For the six months of the current year the energy company already
carried out the works on the area of over 1200 ha. The total funding of these events comprised about 50 million rubles.

The staff of all the nine production enterprises of Nizhnovenergo, engaged in clearing the forest corridors, is equipped with necessary instruments and technical devices. This year the branch has additionally bought new equipment — two Italian mulchers, which allow to considerably increase the efficacy of the process of clearing and widening the forest corridors and achieve high parameters in execution of this program. Besides, these special machines reduce the working
hours and considerably lower the number of the engaged staff.

It should be reminded that in 2012 within the framework of the
execution of the program on clearing and widening forest corridors below the power transmission lines in the branch of Nizhnovenergo it was planned to carry out the works on the area of over 3245 ha. Altogether over 163.5 million rubles are going to be spent on this purpose.

At the same time the power engineers are conducting the events aimed at the recovery of the environmental balance in the region. In May 2012 within the framework of the special-purpose program of OAO IDGC Holding the staff of the branch Nizhnovenergo planted about 170 thousand saplings of coniferous and foliage trees in the areas of Nizhniy Novgorod regions, which have suffered from the fires of 2010.
