According to the current data, the transit of natural gas via the territory of Ukraine to the countries of Western Europe in the period from January to May 2012 has dropped by 24.31% compared to the same period of 2011 – to 37.008 billion cubic meters, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transportation system – Ukrtransgaz — reported on Thursday.
At the same time the volume of gas transit to Europe in May declined by 37.4% — to 6.201 billion cubic meters.
