The Emergency Ministry office in Leningrad region reported in the evening of May 14 that oil products from the Palkino – Kirishi pipeline got into the waters of the river Pchevzha.
According to the information from the Emergency Ministry, the two emergency rescue teams of the oil transfer pumping station and the Kirish garrison have simultaneously left for the occurrence site (the 387th kilometer of the pipeline). At present oil-spill booms have been put in the Kirish district (the population centers of Mogilevo and Gorchakovo) downstream the river Pchevzha and the oil products are being gathered using sorbent.
