The fuel company TVEL is carrying out negotiations on the delivery of fourth generation nuclear fuel for the reactors VVER-1000 of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, the deputy executive director of TVEL Vladimir Molchanov announced on the eighth day of the Eighth International Scientific and Technical Conference “Safety, Efficiency and Economics of Nuclear Power Industry” (ISTC-2012).
“This year we embarked on the development of the fourth generation nuclear fuel for the VVER-1000 reactors. We are planning to make the first delivery of this fuel to the Rovenskaya nuclear for the trial operation power plant in the first half of 2014. At present we are negotiating this issue”, — he said.
The fuel company of Rosatom – TVEL – is a part of vertically integrated structure of the Russian nuclear power industry. TVEL unites manufacturing and scientific assets on fuel fabrication as well as the enterprises, which manufacture gas centrifuges and the accompanying equipment.
