So far the vast majority of projects in the sphere of renewable energy sources in Russia are being executed in the field of hydro power, while other types of “clean” energy generation are represented by separate projects only.
One of the largest projects in the sphere of wind power in Russia is the project of a joint venture Kurganskaya WPP, which was created in January last year by Intertechelectro Company and the German company SoWiTec. The managing director of SoWiTec Herd Hummerl spoke about the progress in the execution of the project of the construction of a wind park with the capacity of 50 MW in Kurganskaya region at the RAWI conference. He pointed out that wind measures, which are being carried out at the site of a would-be wind park, show positive results. At present the JV Kurganskaya WPP is dealing with solving the issues of land allocation, carrying out design works, investigating the influence of the wind park on the environment. They have also started negotiations with the manufacturer of turbine equipment.
According to the director of the main equipment delivery department the Intertechelectro company Yaroslav Sigidov, one of the main issues connected with the development of “green” generation in Russia is the issue of tariff formation. “Clean energy is developing quickly in the countries, which have “green tariff”, — says Yaroslav Sigidov. For instance, at one of the conferences the project was discussed of a 120 MW wind park construction in Ukraine, where special tariffs for alternative energy sources have been adopted on the legislative level”.
