On Wednesday, July 27 in the course of the working tour the Governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev attended the construction site of Tobolsk-Polymer, the largest polypropylene producing complex in Russia. The head of the region appreciated the pace of construction, and pointed out that the volume of the executed works at present allows talking about the object completion in the agreed terms, the press-service of the Regional administration reports.
According to the Governor, after this enterprise has been put in operation Russia will be able to stop importing polypropylene. According to various estimates at present the country receives up to one million tons of imported polymer as ready-made manufactured products. After the startup of Tobolsk-Polymer and the development of polypropylene manufacturing facilities the added value of the finished products will remain in Russia.
At present Tobolsk-Polymer projects is fully supplied with the specifications documentation. The projects had 95% of the necessary supply of materials and machinery, and the construction and assembly work have been fulfilled by 30%. The materials and machinery supply is expected to be completed in January 2012. The construction and assembly works are planned to be finished in the third quarter of 2012.
