On Tuesday, November 13, Alexey Miller, the head of the Managing Board of Gazprom concern, told the journalists that on the next day, November 14 the management of the company is planning to take a final investment decision on the sea part of the gas pipeline South Stream, which is to connect the Russian and the Bulgarian segments of the gas pipeline on the bottom of the Black Sea. The construction of the new gas transportation system is scheduled for December 7 2012, Gazprom CEO said.
The gas transportation system is to reach the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria in the city of Varna. The further route of the gas pipeline is to go through the territory of Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy – to the population center of Tarvisio in the north of the country.
“We have already taken the final investment decisions for Hungary, Slovenia and Serbia. On November 14 we are going to sign an investment desicion on the sea part, on November 15 – on the Bulgarian area. We are planning to start the construction of gas pipeline South Stream on December 7. ”
