Gazprom does not intend to reduce the price for natural gas offered to China in view of Turkmenistan’s intention to increase gas deliveries into this country, the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller told the journalists.
“Our partners are aware of our proposals”, — he said answering the question of whether there will be any changes to the Russian proposal for China.
According to him, the plans of Turkmenistan “are not going to influence our terms of gas deliveries”.
As the prime-minister of Russia Vladimir Putin had to admit, Russia and China cannot agree on the gas price because Beijing is striving for a discount.
During Putin’s visit to China in October the thirteen-year contract on the Russian gas delivery for the amount of one trillion dollars was not signed.
This week in the course of the president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow’s visit to China 14 Chinese-Turkmen agreements were signed, including the intergovernmental agreement on increasing the Turkmen gas deliveries by 25 billion cubic meters per year.
