Kazakhstan is suffering severe shortage of aviation fuel, the airports and domestic airlines have only about 40 tons of fuel at their disposal, the press-service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the republic reported on Friday.
“As of January 6 the remaining volume of the fuel in the airports makes up 30.7 thousand tons, out of which 7.4 thousand tons belongs to Air Astana, and 96 tons – to SCAT airlines” – the press-release which was published after a meeting says.
The head of the Ministry of Transport, as the press-release points out, emphasized the necessity of taking urgent measures to provide aviation fuel for the civil aviation in necessary quantity and at the affordable price.
The Civil Aviation Board has obtained the task of compiling a schedule of aviation fuel delivery broken down by airlines and airports.
