Naftogaz Deputy CEO Vadim Chuprun said that the leading oil-and-gas company is ready to spend 543 million American dollars on carrying out modernization of first stage pipeline Urengoy-Pamary-Uzhgorod.
According to Chuprun, 308 million out of the total budget will come from outside funds, and the rest will be allocated from the company’s own funds.
As Naftogaz Deputy CEO points out, this is only the first stage of the pipeline modernization, the works are estimated to take 3 to 5 years, their precise duration depending on the specific needs that might arise in the process of modernization.
In Chuprun’s opinion, the total amount of investment needed to carry out the total reconstruction of the pipeline connecting the Russian North with the Western Ukraine may end up at 1.2 billion American dollars.
The experts are especially concerned with the four divisions of the pipeline Urengoy-Pamary-Uzhgorod, reconstruction of which they see a top-priority task.
