New power generating unit with a capacity of 410 megawatt was comprehensively tested on the premises of Nevinnomisk state district power station (GRES). The construction of the power generating unit was realized by the consortium of the Italian company Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione and Atomstroyexport JSC.
Extensive test of the unit consisted in its non-stop work during 72 hours on the level of its rated power according to the schedule, confirmed by the system operator of the Ciscaucasia energy system. At present the act about successful testing completion is being executed for obtaining permission from the customer and other interested parties to start operating it commercially. The project of a new power unit of Nevinnomyssk GRES is a part of the “List of generating objects, through which the power delivery will be realized according to the contracts on capacity supply” agreed by the Government of the Russian Federation no. 1334-p. The project has become one of the first in Russia, which is conducted according to the concept of the “open book”, while the contact price is not fixed and is determined as “expenses plus compensation” having the identified control price. This approach ensured the transparency of the invested funds usage and saved the customer’s funds dramatically.
The construction contract the unit of 410 megawatt was signed between OJSC Enel OGK-5
and the consortium of Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione with Atomstroyexport JSC July 18 2008. The project is being financed within the framework of the OJSC Enel OGK-5
investment program on developing the electro generating facilities, primarily by means of building combined-cycle plants characterized by high efficiency and causing minimum damage to the environment. The construction contract for the unit in the premises of Nevinnomyssk GRES was signed on the terms of EPCM – Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Management.
The construction works started on November 26 2008. The first synchronization of the gas-turbine unit with the energy system of the Stavropol Territory and republics of the Northern Caucasia in the framework of hook-up and start-up took place on April 11 2011. After the necessary control and testing the capacity of the gas-turbine plant reached the project level. The synchronization of a steam-turbine plant was carried out on June 8 2011. After that consortium Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione and Atomstroyexport JSC started the preparation for extensive test
