The head of Rosneft Eduard Khudainatov said in the meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that his company hopes to complete modernization of seven oil refining plants by 2015. This will allow increasing the output of engine fuel to 40 million tons.
“We are now in the most active phase of our plants’ modernization. These are our seven largest enterprises with the throughput of 50 million tons of oil. We are producing now 22 million tons of engine fuels”, — he said.
Medvedev emphasized the necessity of investing into the oil refining industry, “bearing in mind certain complicated tendencies which exist at the petrol market and other fuel markets”. The president also pointed out that it is necessary to remember and have in view the perspective of transition to higher standards of engine fuel: euro-3, euro-4, euro-5.
