Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has started to expand the Afipskaya 220 kV substation in the Krasnodar Territory on the border to the Republic of Adygea. When the project is complete, in 2021, its capacity will rise from 250 MVA to 375 MVA. This will increase the output of electricity to consumers in the Takhtamukaysky district with a population of 92 thousand people.
The total cost of work is about 500 mn rubles. The third 125 MVA autotransformer will be installed here, two 220 kV and 110 kV feeders will be built to connect it to the grid, and state-of-the-art protection and control automation devices will be mounted.
The autotransformer has been manufactured in Russia. It has an energy-efficient cooling and firefighting system that can be activated automatically. The service life of the equipment will be at least 30 years.
A pit is currently underway for the new machine. The project is being implemented without restrictions on energy supply to consumers.
Afipskaya 220 kV substation is part of the power output circuitry of the Krasnodar CHP. One key consumer of the facility is Afipsky Refinery, one of the biggest oil refinery plants in Southern Russia. The project will deliver 35 MW of electricity to the new residential areas in Afipsip, Khomuty and Enem towns through the Shapsug 110 kV substation by Rosseti Kuban, Co.
