JSC RusHydro’s Board of Directors in the course of a regular meeting on June 28 approved of the list and order of funding those activities of the program of integrated development of the urban type settlement Cheremushki infrastructure for 2010-2014, which implementation is to be completed in 2011, the company’s press-service reports.
Cheremushki is the settlement of the construction workers and engineers of the largest hydropower plant in Russia — the Sayano–Shushenskaya Dam – is situated 40 kilometers off the town of Sayanogorsk in Khakassia. The settlement acquired its official status in 1974. Its population (as of 2009) is 9 thousand people.
As it is reported in the company’s statement the program implementation in 2011 presupposes among other activities the construction of a roofed ice stadium, the Education and Production Informational Technology Hub, the reconstruction of the two building of the local hospital, renovations in the local comprehensive school No.1, children’s playground construction.
All in all it is planned to allocate over 500 million rubles for this purpose.
RusHydro is a state controlled body and is one of the largest generating companies in Russia, which consolidates 68 renewable power generation objects in Russia and abroad. The total capacity of RusHydro is 26.1 GW, including the Sayano–Shushenskaya Dam named after the Soviet-time Minister of Energy and Electrification Pyotr Neporozhny (6400 MW) which is now being restored.
