The safety commitments of the Russian party as to pumping via the territory of Belarus the oil of the Russian company Zapadtransnefterpoduct are kept to the full extent. This was announced by Emergencies Minister of Belarus Vladimir Vaschenko during the press-conference in Minsk on July 19.
At the same time, according to the minister, the pressure in the pipeline belonging to this enterprise is somewhat low at present due to the routine equipment replacement.
“All the tasks are solved in the due course. There are no problems here”. – Vladimir Vaschenko pointed out.
Looking back – on July 16 2008 Transnefteproduct froze fuel pumping in the Belorussian section of the pipeline due to the routine repairs. On July 21 2009 the Department on Industrial Safety Surveillance of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus suspended the operation of Unecha-Ventspils pipeline belonging to Zapadtransnefterpoduct explaining it by the pipeline’s poor technical conditions. With the reference to the test data by the independent German company, the press-service of the Emergencies Ministry reported 1082 defects to be revealed at the Belorussian section of the Russian oil pipeline.
