According to the statement made by the CEO of OOO TNK-Uvat (the subdivision of TNK-BP) Yury Masalkin, the company is planning to invest no less than one hundred million American dollars annually up to 2015 into the geological prospecting and exploitation of the territory surrounding the village of Uvat. The exploration works have been singled out into the separate segment of the investment program, since there has been no previous fundamental exploration on the site before.
At present there exist thirty if not forty promising oil fields which exploitation must be preceded by a comprehensive geological exploration. Presumably the volumes of these oil fields make up from three to fifteen million tons of crude. The CEO of TNK-Uvat set a task to his enterprise – to start exploration of a new oil field every year during the period of ten years.
