During the working meeting in Kiev on July 28 the National Energy Regulation Commission passed a resolution to bring down the tariffs on electricity obtained from renewable sources by 1.3% starting from August 1.
Starting from August 1 the electricity generated by solar power plants will be reduced in price from 534.1 kopecks to 526.92 kopecks for 1 KWh (exclusive of VAT), the electricity generated by roof- and façade-mounted solar panels – from 489.59 kopecks to 483.01 kopecks for 1 KWh (also exclusive of VAT).
The cost of electrical energy produced by wind farms will fall from 129.89 kopecks to 128.08 kopecks KWh, and that of the biofuel energy plants — from 142.18 kopecks to 140.27 KWh.
Also, August 1 will be the starting point for lowering the electricity tariff for the so-called minihydro power plants – from 89.02 kopecks to 87.82 kopecks for one KWh.
It is worth reminding that tariffs for “green” energy are calculated according to a special formula, in which each separate subject has its index. The index rate depends on both the source of renewable energy and the generating equipment parameters.
The Commission regulates the tariffs every month, the tariff rate depends on the Ukrainian currency – hryvnya’s value against the euro, set by the National Bank as of the calculation date.
The National Energy Regulation Commission carries out state regulation of all subjects of natural monopoly in the sphere of electric power industry and oil & gas complex, as well as enables conducting tariff and pricing policies in these spheres.
