The energy complex from solar cells costing about 70 million rubles will be commissioned in October this year in the city of Narimanov in Astrakhan region.
«This experiment is aimed at introducing the renewable energy in the hot regions, we will demonstrate it to the Russian government, and suggest that the federal budget co-finance it», — said Governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin.
The «Sun City» is now fully financed from the budget of the region and aims to provide an alternative power supply in the district center of Narimanov, with a population of over 50,000 people. Also, according to the governor, the project will reduce the tariffs for hot water.
The new energy-efficient technologies have started to be used in housing and community amenities of the region last year. The villagers of the Volodarsky village were the first to «feel» how the sun can help people save money on utility bills,: on the rooftops of apartment buildings of four municipalities solar modules were installed to illuminate the stairwells free of charge.
The project in the town of Narimanov, which the Minister of Housing Viktor Yakovlev proposed to call «Sunshine City» is the follow-up of the started in 2011 works to build a modern boiler, the energy-saving equipment, which will help the residents of Narimanov save 10.6 million rubles a year on heating bills. Iy is planned to receive energy from the sun and use it for heating water by building solar collectors connected to the water system on the roofs of apartment.
