The second line of the Nord Stream gas carried can be commissioned earlier than the scheduled data. This was declared by the prime-minister of Russia Vladimir Putin on November 16 in the course of the meeting with German businessmen.
“We have already done half of the route for the second line. Most likely, the project is to be completed earlier than we’ve planned. At any rate, it will be finished on schedule any way”, — Vladimir Putin pointed out.
The Nord Stream pipeline is laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea and is aimed at transporting Russian natural gas into a number of EU countries avoiding transit countries. The capacity of the first line of Nord Stream which was commissioned on November 8 comprises 27.5 cubic meters. The launch of the second line is scheduled for the October next year which would enable doubling the capacity of the pipeline
