As the press-service of RAO ES of East reports on March 2, the company announced the contest on carrying out the design and survey work as well as engineering documentation of the construction project for the Sakhalinskaya state district power plant-2. At present the Sakhalinskaya SDPP-2 is a priority investment project of RAO ES of East. The construction of the Sakhalinskaya SDPP-2 will help compensate the retired capacity of the Sakhalinskaya state district power plant, as well as the required reserve of the total capacity of the energy system.
It is planned to built the power plant with the capacity of 330 MW, which would be split into the three units of 110 MW each. The SDPP is to be commissioned in 2017. It is supposed to be using the coal from the Solntsevskoye deposit as fuel.
The construction of the Sakhalinskaya SDPP-2 is to be carried out within the framework of the Federal Grand Program “Economic and Social development of the Far East and Transbaikal” for the period up to 2013” (the participating funds are federal funds and off0budget financial sources).
