On August 27 the first power generating unit of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant broke off its operation. Its further reliability and stability in operation are the objectives of the medium scale scheduled repairs. The contracting organization and the services of the nuclear power plant will execute statutory repair works of the following type: disassembly and assembly of the reactor, fuel reload, maintenance overhaul of main circulation pumps #3 and #4, extensive repairs of the main circulation pump #1 and #2, the medium-scale repairs will include turbine and turbine-generator set repairs and the operation inspection of the metal.
The extra operation procedure modernization program will include implementation of the recording devices in the guard circuit of the water level in the steam generators, modernization of the low-pressure cylinder-1, replacement of the chevron separator in the steam generators #1 and #4. The level of the natural background radiation in the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant does not exceed the acceptable parameters. The power generating units of the nuclear power plant function nominally.
