Eastern Energy Company Signs Long-Term Contract on Electricity Supply to China

OJSC Eastern Energy Company, which belongs to Inter TAO UES Group signed a long-term contract with the State Grid Corporation of China on the supply of electrical energy to the People’s Republic of China via the 10, 220 and 500 KW transmission lines. The contract has been signed for 25 years, during which the total volume of supply is to comprise about 100 billion KWh.

The electrical energy supply according to the new agreement is to start from March 1, 2012. It is expected that in 2012 the supply volume of the Russian electricity to China will exceed 2.6 billion KWh (to compare – in 2011 the total volume of electricity delivered to China comprised 1,2 billion KWh).

The company acquire the technical possibility of increasing the export volume as a result of the construction of the Amurskaya-Heihe overhead power transmission line with the voltage of 500 KW. The ordering customer of the construction of the new power line is OJSC FGC UES. Another enterprise — OJSC EEC built the river part of the power line – the transition through the Amur.

According to the signed contract, the transportation of the electrical energy to the People’s Republic of China is to be carried out via several power lines. The two of them (110 and 220 KW) have been used for the near-border electricity trade with China, and the third one is a new power transmission line – Amurskaya-Heihe.
