According to the public information center of Balakovo nuclear power plant, after the completion of the preventive maintenance overhaul by virtue of the permission obtained from Rosenergoatom Concern the first reactor unit of the Balakovo nuclear power plant was connected to the energy system and started load increase on July 26 at 11:47 (Moscow time).
The warmup and startup of the reactor unit were conducted without objections, in compliance with the regulations on safety operation.
All the four reactor units of Balakovo nuclear power plant are operational. The total load at 16:00 (Moscow time) is 3770 MW.
The radiation background at the plant and in the adjacent territory remains unchanged and is up to the level corresponding to the one of ordinary reactor unit operation, which does not exceed natural background magnitude characteristic of the Russian midland and comprises 0.08-0.15 microsievert an hour.
