At present the Main Power Grids of Center have embarked on replacing the three tangent-suspension supports of reinforced concrete on the 330 kV transmission line Kurskaya NPP — Yuzhnaya.
As a result the reliability of power supply of the city of Kursk as well as the southern and western districts of the Kursk region will be significantly improved.
In general in the course of this year repair campaign replace 65 towers of different modifications on 220-750 kV power transmission lines that are in operational and repair service by MES of Center,
The routine replacement of the worn out transmission towers — one of the most important components of the repair works, which are aimed at ensuring the reliable and uninterrupted operation of overhead transmission lines.
The overhead power transmission line 330 kV Kurskaya NPP – Yuzhnaya, which is 40.8 miles long, was built in 1973. The line provides a power delivery to the Kurskaya NPP to the 330 kV Substation Yuzhnaya, located in the Oktyabrsky district of the Kursk region. Stable operation of the line ensures the reliability of power supply for the city of Kursk, the southern and western districts of the Kursk region, as well as a number of industrial consumers, including the facilities of the main pipeline «Druzhba» belonging to JSC «Transneft».
