To ensure the stability of power supply of the international airport Domodedovo the specialists of the branch of OAO MOESK – the Southern electric grids – have completed the works at the substation 110 kv Vzletnaya on the replacement of section and line oil circuit breakers with the sulfur hexafluoride ones.
The Vzletnaya substation has been commissioned in 1994 and together with the substation 110 kv Yakovlevo is one of the key objects, which provide the power supply for the infrastructure of Domodedovo airport. The power supply area of the substation also includes the population centers of the Domodedovo district – the villages of Aviatsionniy and Krasniy Put’.
So far the commissioning trials have been carried out, the new equipment has been put into service. The upgrade of the substation was carried out within the investment program of 2012, it took five months. The cost of the works amounted to over 14 million rubles.
Compared to the oil circuit breakers sulfur hexafluoride ones are more adapted towards different climatic conditions. Their timely replacement allows to prevent repair cost by increasing the period between repairs up to 15 years, to prevent possible technological failures as well as to considerably raise the stability of power supply for consumers.
