Since June 2012 the representatives of the Electrical Energy Trade Union and the association of employers have carried out already fifteen meetings, during which they attempted to reach the compromise on the updated Industry Tariff Agreement. The major disagreement was caused by the refusal; of the employers to legalize the fixed first-class rate in the amount of 6 827. The power engineers believer that this eliminates the p[possibility of a real increase in salaries, what they have instead is just an increase in rates, which merely indexes consumer prices post factum. As the head of All-Russian electrical Energy Trade Union Valeriy Vaqkhrushkin pointed out in the course of the press-conference, “Rosstat says that the average salary in the energy industry is rising, but at the expense of what? Firstly, at the expense of a huge gap in salaries between common employees and top managers. This difference is not measured by dozens of times, but by hundreds, we may state that officially. And secondly, when a salary is being corrected, if only by consumer price index, of course a manager’s salary is increased by an order of magnitude”.
Vakhrushkin also emphasized that the present staff turnover in the energy industry – 20-25% is connected with these circumstances. Cadres in the energy industry are if not all than very much, and they – qualified and interested in stable works – are in deficit.
