The country can probably sell about 7 % of the biggest Federal Hydrogeneration Company RusGidro under privatization process within a year, this was declared by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin.
“About 7% of “RusGidro” company shares will be arranged and sold out within a year “ Reuters agency reported his saying.
“RusGidro” operates the majority of Russian hydro-electric power stations with a capacity of 25.5 GW producing about 7.5 % electric energy in the country.
The country which owns 57.9 percent of the company plans to sell out 7.9% under massive privatization process before 2013, which had been planned to patch the holes in Federal budget. After that the government was going to reduce its share to blocking interest. Company management suggested to sell out 8% share stake to a strategic investor before 2012 .
RusGidro held negotiations with unidentified European and Chinese companies on potential conversion of shares
The company is preparing additional emission of shares which is to be exchanged for a number of state assets and 40 % of Irkutskenergo which belongs to InterRao holding company. The final share of the state property in the company is still unknown.
