If the inspections which are being carried out in electrical energy industry reveal serious violations, they may result in criminal cases, the vice prime-minister of the Russian Federation Igor Sechin told the journalists.
Answering the question of whether the criminal cases will be started after such inspections, he said: “This is not my department but if there is proof of not only the conflict of interests but also the criminal Code violations then criminal cases are very likely to be started”.
Last week the prime-minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a meeting dedicated to the development of the electrical energy industry and criticized the quality of work in this sphere, suggesting that staff changes take place in the industry. Earlier the head of Minenergo Sergei Shmatko said that several directors of energy companies resigned after Putin gave the order to carry out inspections in this industry. Shmatko added that these CEOs will be subject to official investigation.
