Kulczyk Oil Ventures Inc (Canada) is planning to start reservoir stimulation program using hydraulic fracturing technology (“frac’ing”) in Ukraine in late October. This is reported in the company statement.
Initially the reservoir stimulation program through the hydraulic fracture of formation will be implemented in the O-6 and O-8 wellsites of the Olgovskoye gas field (the Lugansk region).
‘All necessary equipment is now on location and the frac’ing program is scheduled to start during the last week of October with the first well to be stimulated being the O-6 well., — the statement says.
According to the Executive Vice President of the company Jock Graham this is the first case of the first frac’ing program in the region using modern frac techniques.
‘The fracs starting later this week are part of our program of using the latest echnologies and production methods to enhance productivity, and while there is no assurance of success we will analyse all of the data to determine what lessons can be learned to insure future success.’ – Graham is quoted in the statement.
