The branch of OAO IDGC of Siberia – Kranskoyarskenergo – is planning to invest 1.5 billion rubles into the computerized systems of electricity metering before 2020, the Interregional Distribution Grid Company reports.
“The implementation of the computerized information and measuring system of a commercial electricity metering is one of the strategic aims of the IDGC of Siberia. This system will be able to define the volume of electricity and consequently – its loss at every stage of its delivery from a power transmission line to s customer”, — the company’s release says.
This project is being realized within the framework of the federal law “Concerning Energy Conservation”. According to the estimate carried out by the company, the replacement of some metering devices with more up-to-date ones will reduce the energy loss from 30-35% to 3-5%.
