The representatives of JSC RusHydro supported the suggestion of the head of the Republic of Altai of including five mini hydro power plants into the investment program of the small scale energy generation development of the region; the additional agreement on this is to be signed in September, a press-office of the Republic of Altai administration said to RIA Novosti on Friday.
According to him, the issues of a joint preparation and execution of the small scale energy generation development program in the republic were discussed by the RusHydro representatives and the head of Gorny Altai Alexander Berdnikov at the meeting in Moscow on Thursday.
“The representatives of JSC RusHydro supported the initiative of the regional government to complement the investment program of the small scale energy generation development of the Republic of Altai with the mini hydro power plants “Aktash-1”, Aktash-2, Multa-1, Multa-2, Uymen”. In the discussion with the participation of experts and the parties concerned the most efficient ways of using the rich potential of the republic’s water power resources were defined”, — the agency’s source explained.
He also specified that this September will see a meeting in Gorno-Altaisk with the top-management of RusHydro with the aim of further enhancement of the investment program.
“After considering the results of the meeting the addendum will be signed”, — the press-officer added.
In July 2010 RusHydro and the Republic of Altai signed an agreement on developing the small scale energy generation in the region, which presupposes the liabilities of RusHydro on the analysis and selection of the promising dam sites on minor rivers and the projects of mini hydro power plants construction for including into the program as well as on the execution of the pilot project — the mini hydro power plant Chibit.
In March RusHydro became the owner of 100% of JSC Mini Hydro Power Plants of Altai, created by the company for the execution of the project of the mini hydro power plant Chibit with the capacity of 24 VW on the river Chuya in the Ulagan district of the Republic of Altai. Its putting in operation is scheduled for 2013. The general contractor of the project is another “daughter” of RusHydro, JSC CHIRKEYGESSTROI.
At present the construction site of the hydro power plant Chibit hosts the preparatory stage of construction works, which includes creating infrastructure for workers.
According to the agency’s source, at the meeting the list and schedule of the execution of the Chibit construction works in 2011-2012 was approved. In accordance with the schedule the construction of the first dam on the Chuya river is to be completed in 2014, altogether the Chuya will see three mini hydro power plants to be built.
Besides, according to his data, the discussion touched upon the possibility of the Republic of Altai buying the electrical energy generated by the hydro power plants belonging to RusHydro and its subsidiaries.
